PlainIndex has no accounts, no logins, and no email list. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is almost nothing to collect. This page says what little there is.

What is collected

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views at the edge. It records the URL requested, the referring site, and coarse device and country information. It does not set a cookie, does not fingerprint the browser, and does not build a profile that follows a visitor between sessions or between sites. There is no way for us to tell that two visits came from the same person.

Cloudflare also operates the CDN that serves the site, and like any web host it processes request metadata, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and absorb attacks. That processing is operational and short-lived.

What is not collected

• No advertising or social tracking pixels of any kind.
• No third-party analytics beyond the Cloudflare counter above.
• No cross-site or advertising cookies.
• No email addresses, unless you send one by writing to us.
• No sale or sharing of visitor data. There is no buyer and no product.

The calculators stay in your browser

Every tool on this site runs entirely client-side. Tickers, balances, contribution rates, tax brackets, and holdings entered into the look-through, overlap, backtester, cost, placement, loan, retirement, and tax-loss-harvesting tools are computed in the browser and never transmitted anywhere. Nothing you type into a calculator reaches a server, so nothing about your portfolio can be stored or leaked by us. Closing the tab discards it.

Mail sent to [email protected] is kept only as long as it takes to answer, and used only to answer. It is not added to any list.

Changes

If this page changes materially, the reviewed date above changes with it. Questions about any of the above go to the same address, and the about page explains how the site is funded, which is usually the question behind the question.
